Biography
Jonny Bairstow is one of England’s most-exciting cricketers.
The 23-year-old wicket-keeper batsman, who scored 95 in England’s third Test against South Africa at Lord’s in August 2012, was named man of the match on his international debut in September 2011, hitting an unbeaten 41 as England beat India to win the NatWest Series 3-0.
After scoring two hundreds for Yorkshire at the start of the 2012 season and being named man of the match in the second Twenty20 of the series against Pakistan in February, Bairstow made his Test debut against the West Indies in May.
Bairstow started the 2013 season in impressive style for Yorkshire and the England Lions, making scores of 186 and 68 respectively, and was named in the England side that defeated New Zealand by 140 runs in the first Test at Lord's.
