Biography

Romain started playing golf as a ten year old when his parents bought a house near Bussy St Georges Golf Club in Paris.

The Frenchman became only the fifth amateur to win on the Challenge Tour when, at just 19, he captured the 2010 ALLIANZ European Strasbourg-Golf de la Wantzenau by three shots.

Romain went on to win the Eisenhower Trophy as part of the national team before turning professional and securing his first European Tour card with a tied-ninth finish at 2010 Qualifying School.

He enjoyed a successful rookie season in 2011, finishing 90th on the Race to Dubai with nearly €350,000 in prize money, and continued to improve in 2012.

Romain ended the year 51st in the money list, thanks largely to a fine fortnight in late summer where he was tied third at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles and tied second at the Omega European Masters a week later.

Following a solid 2013, the 23-year-old made a fine start to the 2014 campaign, recording top ten finishes in three of his first six events, including tied third at the Alfred Dunhill Championship and Omega Dubai Desert Classic respectively.
