A couple of guys are going to be very useful to me this week for what I predict will be the toughest Major I have ever played in. The first is a new ally - former US Tour player Stan Utley, who is fast earning a big reputation as a short-game expert. I like what I am hearing so far and Stan could be invaluable because the winner is going to have to be spot on this week with his game from 75 yards and in. The second is an old friend - caddie Billy Foster. Things didn't quite work out as expected with Pete Coleman so I am excited to have Billy back next to me after something like 18 months. I enjoyed his company yesterday and I am looking forward to us working well together again. Billy knows me better than anybody else who's worked for me. I relied heavily on him in the past and I'm sure I'll do so again. He doesn't say an awful lot, but when he does he's usually right. He's right more often than I am so that's why I listen to him. Because he's worked with me for so long, he knows what sorts of shots I see and the ones I like to play. That makes it much easier for him to decide or help me decide what club it is. All in all, my preparation is going to plan and I'm ready to play. |
