India Fail At Final Hurdle

Just when it looked like India were beginning to offer hope for the rest of the cricketing world by rocking Australia’s lofty perch, the men from Down under remained way on top. India impressed throughout the Australian summer, but their top batsmen were obviously worn out when they needed to be at their best for the VB Series final.

Australia went up another gear and the final became a disappointing affair.   The difference in the sides was clearly in the field - the Aussies ground fielding and catching was nothing short of awesome, typified by Brett Lee’s dismissal of Sehwag, diving full length to his left at short fine leg to take a rocket.   It was one of the greatest catches I have ever seen and I’ve seen a few.

The other big news coming out of Australia was the return of Shane Warne after his 12-month ban and I look forward to seeing him play international cricket again very soon.

Our boys are currently having a four-day get together at Loughborough University where Michael Vaughan and his team are not only working on their games, but also fitness and mental approach ahead of the tour to the West Indies.
