Giles Traps Critics With Career Best
Michael Vaughan’s Test steamroller keeps on flattening the West Indies. Skipper Vaughan scored a century in both innings to lead England to a 210-run victory at Lord‘s… and still did not claim the Man of the Match Award.

That honour went to Ashley Giles, who claimed best-ever figures of 5-81 in the second innings and nine wickets in all to get the vote.
Giles accounted for West Indies skipper Brian Lara in both innings in a match where bowlers generally suffered on a flat track.
Robert Key scored a very impressive 221 as he replaced the injured Mark Butcher while Shivnarine Chanderpaul came within three second innings runs of emulating Vaughan’s feat of a three-figure return in both knocks.
Freddie Flintoff’s 58 off 42 balls and four wickets might have put him in the running in any other game, but Giles silenced his crickets with his greatest Test match haul.
It was England's fourth Test win over the Windies in their last five matches.
