England Fight On
Michael Vaughan's England face a tough fight to save the Second Test after Sri Lanka enjoyed the best of the third day in Kandy. After restricting England to 294, the home side reached 39-1 when bad light stopped play - a lead of 127 with two days left and Muttiah Muralitharan eager to add to his four first innings wickets.

Chaminder Vaas also collected four while Graham Thorpe top scored for England with 57. England's main hope of preventing Sri Lanka taking the lead in the series is spinner Ashley Giles who trapped Marvan Atapattu lbw at the start of the home side's second innings.
"We're going to have to bowl and bat well, but it's well within our capabilities," said Vaughan.  "If we can restrict them to a reasonable total we may even have a chance of sneaking a win".
