Vaughan Goes Down On One Knee
Michael Vaughan could miss Thursday’s First Test against New Zealand after collapsing in the nets with a knee problem. England captain Vaughan stretched to drive a wide ball from spinner Zac Taylor and shortly afterwards fell to the ground in agony.

Vaughan was initially fitted with a brace on his right knee but was later taken for scans and was awaiting the results last night.
It is not the first time the Yorkshire opener has had problems with his knee - missing the entire 2001 Ashes after injury to his left leg on that occasion.   But he has been an ever-present in Tests since December 2001.
Opening partner Marcus Trescothick may get the captaincy, but Vaughan’s predecessor Nasser Hussain could also take temporary charge.
