We'll Bounce Back
Michael Vaughan remained defiant this morning despite England having suffered their second worst defeat in One Day International history. Vaughan, who has won the NatWest Challenge and NatWest Series plus a 3-0 win over Bangladesh since succeeding Nasser Hussain as Captain, is staring at his first defeat unless England can turn things around against Sri Lanka.

"We need to ensure that we learn from the mistakes we made and there were a hell of a lot of those, talk things through and work to improve", said Vaughan. "We have some young lads who have never experienced this kind of defeat so it is a true test of character as to how they bounce back after their 10 wicket defeat in Dambulla".
"We have a vibrant squad and the team spirit will not have been dented because of one defeat. We just have to learn from mistakes and come back on Friday".
Sri Lankan Captain, Marvan Atapattu said he felt Sri Lanka had struck a psychological blow ahead of the 3 Test Series. "If I was in Michael's shoes I would be a bit worried" said Atapattu.
