Clarke birdied four of the last five holes to finish on 5 under par for the first two rounds in the tournament that is led by 2003 Open Championship winner, Ben Curtis on 8 under par.

This is the last tournament that JP Fitzgerald will be on the bag of Ulsterman, Clarke. The split is an amicable one, they have been good friends for 20 years or so and shall remain so. Pete Coleman, long time caddy for Bernhard Langer, is set to be the new man on the bag  for Clarke.
