Westwood Leads in Sun City

Lee Westwood fired himself to the top of the leaderboard at the Nedbank Golf Challenge with a third round of one under par 71, which gives the Englishman a five under aggregate of 211 going into the final round.

There are eight out of the elite 12 man field within six strokes of the lead at the Gary Player Country Club, with South Africa’s Retief Goosen leading the chasing pack. Goosen matched Westwood’s 71 to remain within one of the Ryder Cup star.

Stuart Appleby is in third place a shot behind Goosen, with European Number One Ernie Els in a tie for sixth with the USA’s Jim Furyk on level par.

Sergio Garcia of Spain (74) and Sweden’s Fredrik Jacobsen (72) are joint tenth on nine over par.
