Another Top 10 Hit For Coltart
Andrew Coltart once again showed why he is ISM’s most consistent performer this year with another solid performance in the Scandic Carlsberg Scandinavian Masters.
The Ryder Cup Scot finished third in Barseback just three shots behind Australia’s Adam Scott to make it three top 10’s in his last eight starts and his fifth of the season.
"I had a run of missed cuts early in the year, but since then my game has started to come back and I am getting used to contending again," said Coltart, who collected £60,000 for his four-day stint in Scandinavia. "Hopefully it won’t be long before I can finish one of these weeks off"
Coltart was let down by a second round 76 because he was one of only two players to register three cards in the sixties, the other being England’s Nick Dougherty.
Three other ISM players finished in the top 20, Mark Foster, Carlos Rodiles and Charl Schwartzel all finishing on three under par while Ben Mason also showed further signs of improvement by claiming 24th spot.
Schwartzel’s reward for collecting £15,000 was a place inside the all-important top 60 who qualify for the season ending Volvo Masters.
"Several of our players put in strong weeks again and I get the feeling our next win is very close indeed," said ISM chief Chubby Chandler.
"Andrew is once again proving that he is ready to move on to the next level while I have ceased to be amazed by Charl’s exploits even though he is only 18," added Chandler.
Stephen Brown continues to gain valuable experience on the Challenge Tour and claimed a top 20 place in the Talma Finnish Open.
